About Ryan North Photo

Ryan North is a photographer with a passion for nature. His photography has taken him throughout Australia and around the world (from New Zealand to Mongolia to Alaska), and goes hand-in-hand with his position as an Earth Science PhD student at the University of Wollongong. He has held many small exhibitions and one major exhibition ‘Dynamic Earth’, and believes photography is best viewed in print.

Ryan learned quickly from a young age, earning him awards like RAW Artists Wollongong Photographer of the Year (2014) at 15 years of age and Australian Geographic’s Junior Nature Photographer of the Year (2015) at 16 years of age, and more. He now teaches with Wollongong Photography Group, leading beginner and specialised photography workshops for keen students. Ryan continues to develop and refine his portfolio with his unique, abstract photographic style.
